About Helen Hawkins
Helen's passion for photography started whilst studying Fine Art at University. Her final piece was a handmade enlarger capturing images she had painted then digitalised to create acetate negatives. It sparked an interest in mixing traditional and digital mediums which drives her work today.
After a number of years away from the arts Helen undertook an A-Level in photography to rekindle her passion and learn some more traditional darkroom techniques.
She is now exploring images captured digitally on an SLR or even a mobile phone and taking these into the darkroom. It's the creativity and individuality that this processing brings to an image which she finds truly fascinating.
