Albert Camus

“My photographs place me within my life: they give me meaning. The photographs I take give the people and the subjects within the images immortality. The subjects are frozen in time within that photograph with no form of escape. But at the same time the photographs allow me to recognise the subject’s mortality and the fear of losing them. This has formed a need to take photographs that drives the work through the different stages of my life, allowing me to discover my past and reflect.

In resent years practice has become a search or journey, but I cannot tell you for whom or to where. But the search is connected to love and the emotional connection between two individuals. Within my photographs this connection is between the subject and me. The photographs do not record the subject’s own relationships, but it is my relationship, feelings and emotions towards the subject that I’m capturing and interested in. The photographs have also formed the diary. Helping me to see my heart opening to them and feelings I had or have for that person.
